Regular daal (unconfirmed)

Ingredients:
1 cup daal
1/2 cup diced onions
1/2 cup sliced onions
2 cloves of garlic
3 green chilis, 1 chopped, 2 sliced down middle
1 tsp salt
3 cups water
2 tbsp ghee
2 tomatoes
1/2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp black pepper

  1. Wash 1 cup daal and soak for five minutes in water after microwaving for thirty seconds.  
  2. Add 3 cups water, soaked daal, diced onions, 1 clove of garlic, 2 long chilis, 1 tbsp ghee, 2 tomatoes, 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp coriander,  1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/4 tsp black pepper into a pot.
  3. Simmer over medium heat for about half an hour.  
  4. Smush up the daal for a minute or two until like one big mix.
  5. Turn down the heat to medium-low.
  6. In a separate pan, heat 1 tbsp of ghee, add the sliced onions and one chopped kachamorich. 
  7. When onions are golden brown, add 1 clove of garlic.  
  8. Turn the heat to low and add some daal to frying pan.  Then, pour everything into the main pot.  Cover the daal and keep it on low heat for five minutes.
  9. Remove.
